ENDOLUMINAL PROCEDURE – CAROTID STENT

CASO 001/05

74-year-old Man, with antecedents of arterial hypertension (HTA), and brain vascular accident (BVA) in territory of the left average cerebral artery 6 weeks ago.

Ultrasound Doppler color reports plate ulcerated in the left carotid bulb associated to an estenosis approximate of  50% of the light.  Verified in angiography (FIG 1).

We carry out end luminal procedure  by means of the establishment of an autoexpandible stent , achieving the reestablishment of the normal caliber of the carotid and the cover up of the wound ulcerated, diminishing in this manner the risk of subsequent embolisms.
